HTML
There is NO mystery about HTML and Web Design. HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is simply TEXT, but it is written in a special way so that browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox understand that this is a Web Page, and NOT just an ordinary text document.
Anyone can learn to design and publish their own web pages without having to learn some new Wonder Wizard One-Click WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Editor.
If you have one or two of them sitting around on your computer and you’ve tried a gillion times to get them to work, put them into the archives, and learn web design the RIGHT WAY with Ultimate Web Design where “What You Style Is What You Get”.
There are other reasons for coding web pages with your own hand-written code.
- There is less formatting in the <body> of the webpage, so you save time when you are adding content to your pages.
- There is less code in the pages which results in your file sizes being smaller, thereby saving disk space.
- The pages will load a lot faster when the browser does not have to perform a bunch of mathematical calculations to figure out placement of images etc.
The Search Engines love Styled web pages because they can spider through your site without getting entangled in a whole lot of redundant and repetitious code.
You will save bandwidth because smaller file size equals fewer KB to download your pages.
Web pages will load faster: Keeping your visitors ON your page, rather than clicking away because your page is taking too long to display.
You can use special CSS styling tricks that up until now have only been able to be seen by the use of Javascript. Not ALL web surfers have Javascript enabled.
So, that’s what this blog is about. Getting rid of expensive crappy WYSIWYG Editors and learning to design web pages the right way – with STYLE – CSS that is.
Enjoy the Posts – and DON’T forget to get your “CSS Tip of the Day”.
All the Best,
